Wine Advocate-Parker : Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2014 tasting, the 2014 Volnay 1er Cru Clos des 60 Ouvrées from Domaine de la Pousse d'Or has quite a showy, floral bouquet that is a little oaky at the moment and does not really express the vineyard. A light chalk dust scent evolves with aeration in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with supple red fruit, a gentle grip in the mouth and bitter cherry and orange rind lacing the strawberry fruit although like many other Volnay wines this vintage, it feels a little clipped toward the finish. This does not fulfill the potential it was showing from barrel, but hopefully it will meliorate with bottle age. Tasted September 2017.
