Wine Advocate-Parker :
The rose gold-tinted 2010 Gruenspiel offers high-toned, ester-rich, distilled pit-fruit aromas, and an oily textured yet brightly juicy palate impression dominated by blood orange and cherry. Unlike several other recent renditions of this bottling, here the barriques in which it was vinified and aged do not compromise primary juiciness or clarity in the finish, where bittersweet nut oils, fruit pit piquancy and a bite of black pepper add lasting stimulation and grip. The red wine-like structure that characterizes this blend of Pinot Noir, Gewurztraminer, and Riesling is itself not obtrusive in the present instance, and may even contribute to the aging potential of a wine that I would not give-up following before 2022 at the earliest.
